For generations, the Berlin Fire Company has been dedicated to protecting the community of Berlin and the surrounding areas. Our volunteer members respond around the clock to provide fire protection, emergency medical care, and rescue services when our neighbors need us most.
From 1895 until the time that the first water mains were laid, the town was served by a bucket brigade. There was no organization, you simply grabbed a bucket and started water on either your, or your neighbor’s house.
In 1901 another major fire struck the downtown area, and again on October 1, 1904. These fires were fought with will, determination, and buckets.
A meeting was called by the Mayor and Council on January 28, 1910. All persons interested in forming a fire company were requested to attend. From this meeting, the Berlin Fire Company was born.
Our banquet hall is available to rent based on first-come, first-serve availability. The hall has a capacity of approximately 250 people.
Our conference center is available next door to the firehouse at 220 North Main Street. This can be used for meetings, smaller gatherings (60-70 people) for events such as birthday parties, baby showers, meetings, trainings, etc.

No experience is required—just a willingness to learn, work hard, and make a difference for the residents of Berlin and the surrounding area.
