R.I.T. Drill - Decatur Street
Tuesday, February 17, 2009
At 1930 hours on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, the Berlin Fire Company and Ocean Pines Fire Department conducted a R.I.T. drill on Decatur Street in Berlin. Crews simulated R.I.T. scenarios and located disoriented or trapped firefighters inside a 3 story house which was released to the fire department for training. Search methods and R.I.T. concepts were enforced as well as communication and other firefighter safety concepts. There will be continued training over the next couple weeks to build on the training that has been started. A special thanks to Tim Jerscheid and Joel Feldman for assisting with the drill, as well as the Ocean Pines Fire Department for their participation in the drill.
