HAZMAT Response - Ocean Dr and Stephen Decatur Highway

At 0903 hours on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, the Berlin Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak. While responding, Worcester Central received updated information of a Chlorine tank leak. Engine 604 and Command 6 arrived together, with Assistant Chief Bryon Trimble establishing "Assateague Command." The crew of Engine 604 investigated to find a 150 pound Chlorine cylinder leaking and attempted to secure the leak. After multiple attempts, respresentatives from the Worcester County Hazardous Response Team decided to secure the tank leak using equipment from Hazmat 1. The leak was secured and all units returned to service by 1045 hours.
