Berlin assists Newark in fatal crash - Route 113

Just before 17:00 hours Monday evening Berlin Fire Company was alerted to assist Newark Volunteer Fire Company with a MVC with injuries and entrapment. Initial requests consisted of an addition ambulance from Berlin and Snowhill as well as Berlin's Heavy Rescue. Both Newark and Berlin worked aggressively to extricate all occupants of the vehicles involved. In all 6 priority 1 patients were taken to PRMC, 3 by MSP's Trooper 4 & 6 and 3 by ground. An additional 4 were pronounced dead on scene. MSP along with the assistance of Newark Volunteer Fire Company spent hours with the Accident Reconstruction Team to determine the exact cause.
