Structure Fire - 9334 Evans Rd

At 0655 hours on January 6, 2009, the Berlin Fire Company was alerted for a chimney fire. First arriving units reported nothing showing from the exterior of a 1 1/2 story house. The crew of Engine 604 quickly reported smoke in the structure. Assistant Chief Eric Budd arrived and established the command. Crews found active fire in the floor and walls surrounding the gas fireplace. Command was transferred to Assistant Chief Bryon Trimble. Crews worked to locate and contain the fire. The fire was brought under control quickly. Assistant Chief Bill Tilghman was assigned Operations and Assistant Chief Eric Budd was assigned Interior. Command released units as they were ready and turned the scene over to Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office.
