Residential Structure Fire - 10 Wharf Court
Monday, April 26, 2010

At approximately 1300 hours on Monday, April 26, Ocean Pines EMS was alerted for an ambulance call for an overdose. While responding, they were advised that the patient overdosed on medication and threatened to burn her house down. Ocean Pines Police Department arrived shortly after and advised the house was on fire. The box alarm was transmitted. Ocean Pines 1100 paramedic 2 arrived to find a 1 1/2 story single family dwelling with smoke showing. Captain Billy Bounds arrived and established command, requesting an engine from Berlin. A total of 3 handlines were placed in service and the fire was eventually brought under control after going to a second alarm due to the need for manpower. The scene was eventually turned over to the Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office for further investigation. The patient was transported to PRMC with burns to her upper extremities.
