Commercial Building Fire - 10 South Main Street

At approximately 11:30pm on Thursday, June 3rd, 2010, the Berlin Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard. Engine 604 responded and arrived at 10 South Main Street to find a single story commercial building with smoke showing from sides A, B and D. The call was upgraded to a commercial structure fire and crews went to work locating the fire. Crews from Berlin, Ocean Pines, Showell and Powellville operated on the scene to bring the fire under control. Chief Derrick Simpson had "Main Street Command" and assigned Assistant Chief Eric Budd as Operations. Crews returned to service by 0200 hours. Thank you to Newark for standing by at Berlin Fire Headquarters during the fire. The fire is still under investigation by the Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office.
