Structure Fire - 507 Sunshine Lane, Unit 5 and 6

As thunderstorms passed through the Berlin area, the pagers sounded for smoke in the structure following a lightning strike at 507 Sunshine Lane. First arriving units found a 2 story townhouse with nothing evident from the exterior. Chief Derrick Simpson established command. Interior crews entered the structure to find a smoke condition on the first and second floors. An 1 3/4" handline was stretched to the front door and crews continued to search for the source of the smoke. Using the Thermal Imaging Camera, fire was located in the fire wall between units 5 and 6, and crews began to open up. The was held to a small section of the fire wall will limited extension. The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office responded to investigate the fire. No injuries were reported and command released all units at 2145 hours. Showell responded to the scene with engine 803 during the incident.
