House Fire - 319 Bay Street

At 0240 hours, the Berlin Fire Company was alerted for a house fire at 319 Bay Street. First arriving units found a 2 story single family home with smoke coming from the eves of the house on all sides. The crew of Engine 604 placed a line in service and began extinguishing fire on the 2nd floor. The crew of Tower 6 ventilated the roof. Crews attempted to advance on the fire, before being removed from the building due to rapid fire growth. Command ordered master streams to knock the fire down. After a few minutes, crews entered the building to extinguish the remaining fire. Crews operated til approximately 7am before returning to service. In addition to Berlin units, Newark, Showell, Ocean Pines and Bishopville were also on location. Chief Bryon Trimble had command.
