High Speed Chase leaves 2 ejected, 8 injured - Route 50 eastbound at Seahawk Road

At 2011 hours, the Berlin Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle accident. Within 2 minutes of initial dispatch, central advised that this would be from a high speed chase and that 2 patients were ejected from the vehicle. Chief Bryon Trimble arrived to find a 2 vehicle crash with 2 patients laying in the street. After assessment, atleast 2 priority 1 patients, 1 of which was a candidate for Rapid Sequence Intubation due to nature of injuries. Command requested a total of 6 ambulances and 2 helicopters. At completion of the call, Trooper 4 transported 1 priority 1 to PRMC, Ocean Pines Paramedic 1 and Berlin Medic 2 transported priority 1's to PRMC by ground. Berlin Ambulance 3 transported 3 priority 3's to PRMC. Ocean Pines Ambulance 2 transported 1 patient to AGH. Rescue 6 and Engine 608 remained on scene for an extended period of time to provide lighting for the police department to complete investigations.
