Building Fire - 8159 Libertytown Road

At 1900 hours, the Berlin Fire Company was alerted for a residential structure fire at 8159 Libertytown Road. Powellville was alerted for a tanker to fill the box assignment. Chief Derrick Simpson arrived on location to find a 25 x 50 storage/generator building well involved and established command. A tanker from Newark and an additional engine from Powellville were also brought to the scene. The crew of Engine 604 placed 2 1/2" and 1 3/4" handlines in service and quickly brought the fire under control. Command held crews on the scene for overhaul. The scene was later turned over to the Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office for investigation. All fire units were clear the scene by 2045 hours.
