Fatal Crash - 12 Williams Street

at 0855 hours on Wednesday, October 20th, the Berlin Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle crash with heavy entrapment. First arriving units reported a car that had hit the PNC Bank with the driver and passenger seriously injured and trapped in the vehicle. Assistant Chief Bryon Trimble established "Main Street Command." Command requested additional EMS units to respond due to patients injured inside the PNC Bank building. The crew of Engine 604 went to work stabilizing the vehicle and beginning extrication. After extensive extrication efforts, the driver and passenger were both removed from the vehicle. The passenger was transport to PRMC by MSP Trooper 4 in critical condition. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Command released all units and turned the scene over to Berlin Police Department for investigation.
